Conferences are an amazing way to convey vital information to a large number of employees, peers, or even trainees. If you want the most out of your conference, you’ll want more than just projectors. While projectors are fine and dandy for effectively presenting through a keynote speaker, you may want to add to the experience by getting a large quantity tablet rental to use custom business or event applications.

There are many operating systems for tablets which can accommodate your conference needs, which is why we will be covering three tablets you can use for your next conference, instead of one.

1. iPad Pro

Whether you need to rent the 9.7 inch or the 12.9 inch display, Apple’s iPad Pro is an essential tool for holding a conference if your business applications are based in Apple’s operating systems. The iPad Pro is both stylish and efficient, as is to be expected by Apple. The iPad Pro boasts the following specs and more:

  • At least 32 GB
  • A9X third-generation chip with 64-bit computer compatibility
  • HD Video Capability
  • Up to 10 hour battery life

2. Samsung Galaxy Tab S2

Despite the fact that Samsung products have been taking (outputting is a more appropriate word) heat lately, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is a top-of-the-line tablet. Operating on the Android Lollipop OS, this tablet is capable of displaying all of the vital powerpoints, excel documents, and word documents you would expect your event tablet rentals to display. Some impressive specs of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 include:

  • At least 32 GB
  • MicroSD capable of storing up to 128 GB
  • Exynos 5433 AP chip
  • Choice between 9.7 inch and compact 8.0 inch displays

3. Microsoft Surface Pro 4

Microsoft’s competitor in the tablet arena is a powerhouse. The Surface Pro 4 is extremely thin, but does not sacrifice power for size. This tablet runs Windows 10 Pro, and can easily let its specs speak for itself. This tablet has:

  • SSD memory starting at 128GB minimum
  • Battery life of over 5 hours
  • Intel m3,i5, i7, or 6th Gen Intel Core Processor
  • 4GB RAM minimum
  • Headset Jackmicrosoft-surface-pro

Whether you need iOS, Android Lollipop, or Windows, your conference can effectively integrate programs on any of these operating systems with a tablet rental. The three devices listed above are tried and true, and will be capable of powering through the obstacles your conference applications or software may present.

If you are running a training session, but don’t want your attendees to be bogged down by the weight and presence of laptops, tablets are capable of providing a perfect alternative for laptops.  In order to create a seamless training experience, it is a good idea to rent identical tablets.

The people you are training will be making observations on their surroundings, and if they notice a handful white iPad Minis in a sea of black, Samsung Galaxy Tabs, the scene will look a little strange to say the least.

Having multiple types of tablets in play can do a whole lot more than make your training session look unprofessional though. If you have multiple types of tablets on the field, you run the risk of essential training programs not functioning correctly. If your training programs don’t run, you’ll spend valuable time trying to fix the issue. Instead of becoming a fixer and wasting your time, you could have just ordered an identical tablet rental for training courses.

While, the lack of aesthetic appeal may be a bother to a few people, program malfunctioning will drive the final nail in your coffin of professionalism. The main way to ensure that your training programs run correctly is to make sure you rent tablets with the same operating system. Renting tablets that run the same operating system version will reduce the time spent getting your training program running properly. Not all programs will work on Apple or Android operating systems, so knowing which you need is crucial.

It should also be mentioned that different tablets have different processing speeds. This can cause delays in the training course if a third of your class is playing catch up due to differences in technology. Renting identical tablets prevents lesser tech from weighing down the speed of the class.

If you want to plan your training session like a sane individual, don’t mix and match makes and models of tablets, even if you are looking for a large quantity tablet rental. Renting identical tablets will reduce the amount of trouble you have to deal with as a trainer, and give you more time to train.

3 Great Tablets for Your Next Event!

August 25th, 2016 | Posted by rreeve in Android | Apple | iPad | Rental | Tablet - (0 Comments)

There are many things that can make us happy. One such thing is knowing that you have purchased an item that is easily worth the money you spent on it. The technology market is ever changing, but finding a true technological gem is easier said than done. To aid you in your search for greatness, we are providing you three great options to choose from in your hunt for the best tablet!

  1. Google Pixel C

The Google Pixel C is a versatility machine. The Pixel C is sort of a tablet-laptop hybrid, but it also has several other features that make it stand out from other Android tablets such as:

  • A NVIDIA X1 quad-core processor for high speed performance
  • A full-size keyboard connected to the tablet through magnets
  • A display that has multi-angle capabilities
  • 3 GB of LPDDR4 RAM
  • A 32/64 Gigabyte SSD

Even with all of these features, the Google Pixel C only weighs in at 0.517 kilograms, which is just a little over one pound. The Pixel C runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow for its operating system and is a powerful, quality tablet.

  1. iPad Mini 4

Since this is an article about all tablets, Apple had to have a fighter in the ring. I’ve personally found that the size of the iPad Mini makes it a great device to use for your personal e-library; however the iPad Mini is capable of much more. Given its size of 7.9 inches, the iPad Mini packs some serious heat. Some distinguishing features you’ll get with an iPad Mini 4 are:

  • 16/64/128 Gigabytes of storage
  • 10 Hour battery life
  • Apple’s disembodied personal assistant, Siri
  • Cellular data usage capabilities
  • Access to the best applications through the App Store

iPad Mini 4

The iPad Mini 4 currently comes with iOS 9. If you are considering getting an iPad, know that you will be getting some of the most user friendly technology in the tablet market bundled with Apple’s classic design.

  1.  Samsung Galaxy Tab S2

Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4 almost made it onto this list, but due to the Google Pixel C being extremely similar while having a more reasonable price point, discussion on the Surface Pro will have to wait for another day. A much more reasonable contender in a tablet competition is Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S2. This tablet provides some serious competition for the iPad through the following features:

  • 32/128 Gigabytes of storage
  • Choice between an 8” or 9.7” display
  • An Exynos 5433 AP chip
  • Optional Book Cover Keyboard

The Galaxy Tab S2 is a very sleek tablet which weighs in at .86 lbs for the 9.7” version, and only .58 lbs for the 8.0” version. While this tablet may not be as glamorous to you as Apple’s iPads, it makes up for it in pricing and storage space.

Apple unveiled many exciting things at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference which took place last week. One extremely important announcement was Swift Playgrounds.

Before discussing Swift Playgrounds, it is important to know what Swift is. For those of you who do not know, Swift is a programming language created and used by Apple that runs on many operating systems, including macOS, iOS, and Linux.

Swift Playgrounds is an application that has the goal of teaching Apple’s Swift coding while still being fun for the user. To accomplish this goal, Swift Playgrounds presents itself in the style of a video game.

Apple plans to use Swift coding for many years to come, and as a result Swift Playgrounds has the potential to be both a fun and extremely practical application.

Swift Playgrounds is planned to fully release this fall and will be available to download for free for all iPhone and iPad users. For additional information on Swift Playgrounds click here.

young woman using tablet computer outdoorsYou may have had an iPad for years, or maybe you are just getting your first one. Maybe even a rental? You are probably pretty familiar with your device, and even if you aren’t, Apple’s operating system is probably pretty easy for those of you who are tech savvy to navigate. But not everything is so cut and dry when it comes to tweaking the way your settings should be. I’m here to let you in on a few tricks when it comes to operating your device.

First, disable your phone calls. A small number of users might find this handy if they have their iPad paired with an iPhone and their cellular device is in another room, but for the most part this setting should be turned off. If you’re watching a video, playing a game, or are just really into what you’re working on on your iPad, your activity can and will be disrupted by a phone call. Which is why this particular setting may be better off disabled. After all, that’s why you have an iPad in the first place, NOT to talk on it. Luckily, it’s pretty simple to turn this setting off. Just go to Settings>FaceTime and tap the toggle switch to turn off “Calls from iPhone.”

Second and perhaps most important, enabling find my iPad. Your iPad is precious to you, but sometimes you might put it down and forget where you left it, or even the inconceivable could happen: it could get stolen. This setting is easy to enable, just go to Settings>iCloud, then scroll down to Find My iPad. You may also want to enable “Send Last Location,” that way if your iPad dies and is lost, you can get its last known location before it was powered down.

So you’ve enabled Find My iPad and now your iPad has gone missing, how do you find it? Easy, if you have an iPhone, you can use the “Find My iPhone” application. If you don’t have an iPhone, just sign in to your iCloud.com account and then access Find My iPhone from there.

This next tip has to do with the iPad’s Touch ID, the fingerprint sensor that makes for fast and easy lock-screen security. But, if you just use your thumb, or perhaps pointer finger, you can’t always get into your iPad as quickly as you might want. That’s why we recommend that you add more fingers to Touch ID. You can actually log up to five fingers. All you have to do is tap Settings>Touch ID & Passcode, then enter your numeric passcode. Now tap Add a Fingerprint and follow the prompts as many times as you would like (up to 5).

For some reason or other Apple’s default setting for the battery gauge doesn’t include numbers, meaning there is no percentage displayed to show you how long your battery will last. Perhaps it’s so it looks like your iPad’s charge lasts longer than it truly does, but who really knows. Fortunately, you can add a numeric gauge and know exactly when your iPad will die. Fix this by going to Settings>Battery then turn on Battery Percentage.

The LG’s G Pad series, most known as a copy of the Google Nexus 7, has upgraded to the new G Pad II. The G Pad II, unfortunately, won’t be able to make it to the IFA 2015 in Berlin. It’s not quite clear on prices and usability just yet, but we may be looking at a pretty cheap tablet. The Snapdragon 800, which is the G Pad’s processor, is almost 2 years old, but they have it running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. It also has a 10.1-inch screen that uses about 224 pixels-per-inch, which doesn’t even compare to the upcoming Samsung’s 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab S2.

LG G PadJust about the only thing that’s cool about this device is its decent battery life. It’s a 7,400 mAh battery with a more energy-efficient processor. The only color option you get to choose from is bronze, that’s it. The G Pad II will also be including an e-reading mode that reduces blue light output. They claim this will let your read for hours without getting a headache.

This tablet doesn’t seem like the most thrilling new device on the market. iPads and Android tablets are only getting bigger and better. If you don’t want to put all that money into a full-blown Android tablet and just want a cheap tablet that runs the latest Android with an “ok” battery life, then you’re best bet would be the G Pad II.

Did you know that the NFL has been using Surface tablets for over a year now to help assist coaches with the analyzation of plays? In short, coaches used to (and some still) use printers for pictures of plays so coaches, players, and other staff can look over which formations teams use throughout the game taken via cameras in the end zones and high up at midfield. Nowadays Surface 2 tablets are used in order to get the images during plays rather than after, plus the staff doesn’t have to wait for the printers to print.

The NFL is becoming the U.S.’s most high-tech sport! In fact, the partnership is growing in 2015 with new uses enabled by the Surface 3. The weather-ready Surface 3 allows coaches to display more images on-screen, use multiple colors for markups, and even has a whiteboard for jotting down ideas between plays. During the preseason, coaches will even be allowed to use their Surface 3s for video replays! On their tablet, they can zoom and even take down notes using the stylus–which can write during any weather conditions. But coaches will have to hold off until next year (maybe) to use their tablets during the games that actually count.

You might think using tablets on the sidelines is a little over the top for the NFL, but the tech frenzy doesn’t stop there. Microsoft is actually introducing the HoloLens for virtual reality training systems.

But what about the fans? Microsoft is rolling out its new version of its Xbox One NFL app, which is also making its way to Windows 10 later this month. The NFL is launching its Game Pass service, which replaces Game Rewind from last year, for $9.99 per month. Don’t worry, game stats, fantasy stats, and highlights will still be offered for free.

Microsoft Surface Tablets Being Used by NFL CoachesPerhaps the most interesting feature fans will be able to use this season is Next Gen Stats. This application uses the new motion tracker chips embedded in player uniforms for the 2015 season to track distance and speed. This will allow you to actually see the plays that each team runs!

The NFL is truly becoming a next-generation sport thanks to all of the technology that is being introduced. With coaches and teams utilizing things like the Surface Tablet, we are seeing the beginning of the future of both technology and professional sports.

Company events are widely considered one of the best ways to grow your brand and provide useful information to attendees directly. When a business is hosting an event or training course, the typical run-of-the-mill presentations and paper evaluations can get very dull very quickly. What can you do to fix that problem? Well thankfully, for all of us, we have technology. Take the iPad for example. The tablet that made tablets practical, essentially. So how are you going to use this tablet technology to further your brand and help with attendee engagement? Just know that whether it be on the event floor or during the presentation, an iPad can really help bolster your event.

Think about how much paper you may use during the entirety of your event. The copier would be on overload. Instead, why not go a bit greener by using an iPad to take care of things such as speaker and presentation evaluations. Paper signups and registration can get a bit hectic at times as well, depending on the type of event you may be hosting. By putting these types of forms directly onto the iPad your company has provided, you can save paper and keep everything much more organized in the long run.

When your company hosts an event, you want to be as engaged with your attendees as possible. Communication is key in these types of situations. Everyone in the event industry can tell you about live tweeting during a presentation, and that’s just one of the ways an iPad can help. Hashtags aren’t just limited to Twitter anymore. We are now able to use hashtags on all major social media formats, thus making for a much more accessible conversation outlet. Whether it be a forum for attendees to talk about the event on, or if you’re using a hashtag to compose a poll or live tweeting question and answer session, the iPad can help you greatly.

Most attendees will respond to something more visual rather than something they have to read. A picture is worth a thousand words after all. Your attendees will be able to talk to loved ones back home with Skype coming standard on almost all iPads now. With incredible camera quality and processing power, the iPad will be able to display crystal clear pictures and the cameras do their jobs very well. Not only will the attendees’ video chats go well (depending on the internet strength), but they will also be able to take gorgeous pictures that can more easily be posted directly to social media and other sites. Anyone who may be a bit more into photography than others will be able to transfer their pictures taken on a phone, and send them directly to the iPad.

The use of an iPad during the presentation can be beneficial to attendees as well. We all know that nosebleed seats can make it hard for us to see. By having the iPad out during the presentation, you’re able to have the slide show play directly on the iPad through a master iPad controlling it. This way, those sitting in the back won’t have to strain their eyes, nor will they have to try to follow along as it will already be done for them. Think of this as well. Many more attendees will respond to an interactive presentation rather than watch another guy fiddle around with the same hand motion for 2 hours while he speaks.

When you bring the iPad into the play during the speakers presentation, he may become more engaged with the audience and vice versa. Attendees will be more interested especially if the presentation is being played through their respective iPads as well.

There is a multitude of different ways to help make your brand and/or company grow. One of the best and easiest ways to make that happen is at an event. With iPads, or any tablet for that matter, at your next event helping to make it a success, you can be sure that your brand and your audience will grow. Try utilizing iPads at your next business event and see the difference for yourself!
