The iPad Pro 2024 is on the horizon, sparking excitement with its promise of cutting-edge technology and enhanced features. Here’s everything we’ve gathered about what to expect.

The much-anticipated launch of the iPad Pro 2024 has faced delays, but it seems the wait is nearly over. According to DigiTimes, citing sources from Apple’s suppliers, the new iPad Pro, alongside the next-generation iPad Air, was initially set for a March release. Despite several postponements, possibly to align with the release of the new M3 MacBook Air, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg indicates that Apple has now locked in a release week of May 6.

Price Expectations for the iPad Pro 2024

With the introduction of OLED displays, the iPad Pro 2024 is expected to see a significant price increase:

  • Yeux1122 (X leaker) suggests a starting price of about $1,499 for the new models, which nearly doubles the current starting prices of $799 (11-inch) and $1,099 (12.9-inch).
  • DigiTimes prediction, considered more reliable, forecasts a $160 increase, suggesting new prices might be:
    • 11-inch – $999
    • 12.9-inch – $1,259

These prices, while steep, align more realistically with typical Apple pricing strategies.

Top 5 Features to Look Forward to in the iPad Pro 2024

The upcoming iPad Pro is expected to deliver several significant upgrades:

  • New OLED panel: Offers enhanced brightness and a sharper display.
  • Relocated webcam: Optimized for video calls in landscape orientation.
  • M3 chip: Provides faster processing speeds.
  • Thinner chassis: For a sleeker, more refined design.
  • Slimmer bezels: Increases screen real estate without enlarging the device footprint.

Transitioning to an OLED display not only improves visual appeal with better contrast and color depth but also enhances battery efficiency. Insights from 9to5Mac, based on Apple’s software in the iPadOS 17.5 beta, confirm the shift to OLED technology.

In addition to hardware improvements, rumors suggest new accessories like an updated Apple Pencil with enhanced gesture controls and a redesigned Magic Keyboard.

galaxy-tab

Released in late August 2020, not many have had the chance to get their hands on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7. With a price and specs to compete with Apple’s iPad Pro, here we discuss price, design and display, software, hardware, and how Samsung’s latest Galaxy Tab compares to various iPad Pros.

Design and Display

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 has a similar appearance to Apple’s iPad Pro. Available in 11” or 12.4” size, this rivals the iPad Pro which comes in 11” or 12.9”. The S7 has an aluminum chassis, sports a small camera stack, and a magnetic strip for the S-Pen on the upper-left side. The S7 also comes with a quad-speaker setup by AKG. The S7 models come in bronze, black, and silver.

Despite the iPad having a larger camera bump, it looks remarkably similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S7. Both 11” and 12”+ models support a 120Hz variable refresh rate and built-in fingerprint sensors. While the Galaxy Tab S7’s 11” has 2,560 x 1,600-pixel resolution, the iPad Pro 11” displays a similar 2,388 x 1,668-pixel resolution. The larger tablets are similar as well, Samsung’s 12.4” displays at 2,800 x 1,752 pixels while Apple’s 12.9” has a 2,732 x 2,048 resolution.

With both tablets exhibiting their own unique display choices like camera placement and color choice, it’s fair to call this round a tie — which is kind of a win for Samsung to finally be in competition with the iPad Pro.

Hardware

Samsung’s latest Galaxy Tab S7 comes packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ chipset, which delivers the fastest speeds you’ll find on an Android tablet. Although it comes with two options: 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage or 8GB of RAM with 256GB of storage, both of Samsung’s new tablets support up to an additional 1TB of external storage with a microSD card. Although we can’t give Samsung the win in this round solely based on expandable storage, they definitely have the leg up because it’s well-known that Apple refuses to allow its users to have the same option, although the iPad Pro does come available in 128GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options while running the A12Z chipset with 6GB of RAM.

When it comes to battery capacity, Samsung wins again. The Tab S7 has an 8,000mAh capacity battery, while the S7+ has a 10,900mAh battery — both support 45W fast charging with an optional power adapter.

Although the iPad Pros pack a 7,812mAh battery (11”) and a 9,720mAh battery (12.9”), iPadOS has more efficient power management capabilities. Both Galaxy Tab S7s and iPad Pros should be able to last most of the day between charging. Finally, the iPad Pro also comes with an 18W charger that supports fast charging, but Apple does not disclose the maximum power input.

With more powerful storage options and a more powerful chipset, it’s hard not to give Apple the edge when it comes to hardware.

Software

The Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with Android 10 along with the Samsung One User-Interface (UI). The latest update to Samsung’s One UI offers some useful features like automatic syncing across devices and integrated sync with Microsoft OneDrive, OneNote, and Outlook. Although Android 11 is available on certain Android devices already, Samsung has announced that it won’t update the Galaxy Tab S7 models until March 2021. Android 11 would bring a number of improved privacy, chat, and notification features.

Apple has always been known for its smooth, sleek user-interface — and nothing has changed. Coming standard with iPadOS with regular updates guaranteed, the iPad Pro’s operating system offers features like automatically converting handwriting to text, improved widgets, and an updated search and menu function.

Although there are some novelties to using a Galaxy Tab S7 that you won’t find in the iPad Pro, Apple still edges out the competition due to its more refined operating system, tight security, day one updates, and guaranteed operating system updates for at least a few years.

Cameras

The duo of Samsung Galaxy S7 tablets features a dual-camera stack with a 13MP primary lens and 5MP ultra-wide sensor. The front-facing camera clocks in at 8MP.

On the iPad Pro, you’ll find a larger camera bump than the S7 with a 12MP primary lens, 10MP ultra-wide lens, and a LiDAR scanner. The front camera has a 7MP sensor and TrueDepth camera for Apple’s Face ID.

The LiDAR scanner is used to determine the distance around objects and improve distance-measurement accuracy. Perhaps the key to Apple’s monopoly on the smartphone camera market, Apple’s iPad Pro has superior integrated camera technology in its flagship tablet — giving Apple the edge in the camera department.

The Winner?

The verdict is: there is no clear winner. The better tablet here depends on your needs. If you’re looking for a device to take your creative career to the next level or want a powerful laptop-replacement, an iPad Pro is your best option. Apple offers a more-refined OS, more options for creative applications, and the popular Magic Keyboard.

However, if you’re more interested in being as productive as possible, you might look into a Galaxy Tab S7 or S7+. The latest Galaxy Tab offers an amazing Super AMOLED display, plenty of RAM for multitasking, 5G options, and the ability to sync Samsung’s productivity apps with Microsoft Office.

iPad Air 4

November 5th, 2020 | Posted by Brian Kubala in Apple | iPad | Rental | Tablet | Tablet Rentals | Technology News - (0 Comments)

Introduced in September and formally released in October 2020, the iPad Air 4 is the latest tablet release from Apple. With a more modern design than the earlier generation, the iPad Air 4 features a similar design to the iPad pro, including a nearly edge-to-edge, 10.9” liquid retina LED display. The newest tablet from Apple also brings compatibility with features not seen on the previous generation of iPad Air, including compatibility with the new Magic Keyboard, the second-generation Apple Pencil, and USB-C. Let’s take a closer look at the new iPad Air 4.

Display and Design

As noted above, the iPad Air 4 boasts a 10.9” liquid retina LED display, similar to the one found in the current iPad Pro, however the display is capped at 60Hz, which is the same found in the previous generation of iPad Air. As far as the display, the 2360 x 1640 resolution absolutely delivers when it comes to the viewing experience. With the wide gamut of P3 color, the iPad Air 4 is able to offer better colors and contrast than the standard iPad. The display also features an anti-reflective coating, True Tone, and full lamination. The laminated display is especially stunning for those using the Apple Pencil, as the content appears closer to the screen. This simulates the feeling of writing on paper.

Also new to this generation of iPad Air, flat edges and slimmer bezels. This design was introduced in Apple’s 3rd generation of iPad Pro tablets, and it also being used on the iPhone 12. Paired with the nearly borderless screen, the iPad Air 4 feels like a modern tablet. Another bonus? Color options are available. The iPad Air 4 is available in silver, space gray, rose gold, green, and blue.

Performance

When compared to the regular iPad or even the previous generations of the iPad Air, the iPad Air 4 doesn’t do anything special that others can’t. However, moving to the A14 Bionic processor, the same chip found in the iPhone 12, the iPad Air 4 has a performance boost over the previous generation. According to Apple, this processor has double the graphics performance over the A12 processor, and is about 20% faster than the A13.

The iPad Air 4 features a 7-megapixel front-facing camera, perfect for those FaceTime calls in a time when we are relying on our tablets and phones to keep us connected to our friends, families, and coworkers. The new iPad Air 4 also boasts a 12MP camera that is capable of filming at 4K video. This is perfect for those who are film editors looking to do some work remotely, or students who are looking for a budget friendly tablet to learn the basics in the film editing industry.

Final Thoughts

With improved performance, better design, and a more beautiful display, the iPad Air 4 is worth a second look for those considering a tablet. It is a perfect fit for a mid-tier tablet between the regular iPad and the iPad Pro for those who are looking for performance, while still wanting to stay budget friendly.

Political opinion polling using tablet application

Candidates and their teams are constantly working to better understand the thoughts, motivations, and opinions of voters – and there’s no better place to do that than at campaign rallies and party events. While political opinion polling traditionally employed the use of pen and paper, relying on respondents to answer numerous questions put to them by a stranger, and depending on data entry volunteers to compile and translate all of the data later, tablet rentals and kiosk rentals are making the task less time-consuming and stressful. Read on to learn more about how tablet rentals and kiosk rentals make it easier for political campaigns and volunteers to conduct political opinion polling at rallies and party events. Make tracking data easier with Android or Apple applications!

Political opinion polling using tablet application

Roaming the crowd

For campaigns with a team of volunteers ready to hit the ground at campaign rallies and party events, tablet rentals allow participants to quickly and easily enter their responses to questions without your team members having to keep track of stacks of questionnaires. Our tablet rentals can even be preloaded with your voter polling software to allow for faster deployment.

For polls with more than just a few questions, our iPad Pro rentals offer a large display that makes answering dozens of questions easier. For ease of portability, iPad Mini rentals allow your volunteers to quickly conduct political opinion polls at your events. Check out Explore Your Bid for Office with iPads and iPhones to learn more about how mobile options can help your team connect with voters.

Self-serve options

When voters are approached directly by campaign workers or party affiliates with survey questions, they are less likely to give a true account of their opinion. Using self-serve options to conduct opinion polling allows campaigns to collect less biased opinions from those attending their party events and campaign rallies.

iPad kiosk rentals allow your respondents to give their true and anonymous opinion about the candidate, policy, platform, or party action. Setting up multiple iPad kiosk rentals near the entrance and exit points of your event allows attendees to participate in your opinion polls at their own pace – without pressure or unwanted attention. Read 4 Reasons iPad Rentals are Great for Marketing and Branding to learn more about using iPad rentals in polls and marketing.

Offer some incentive

Sometimes getting campaign and party event attendees to participate in opinion polls is more difficult than you’d think. While paying attendees to participate in political opinion polls is frowned upon, offering some incentive can help you get a greater response rate.

Charging station rentals can be outfitted with interactive iPad screens that allow attendees to complete political opinion polls while charging their cell phones or other mobile devices. Our charging station rentals also include a fully customizable wrap that be printed with your campaign’s logo or other messaging. Read Power Up Your Event with Charging Station Rentals for even more ideas for including charging stations at your event venue.

Charing station rentals pair well with tablet kiosks, and are great for creating branded event experiences.

Fully customizable

All of our kiosk rentals are fully customizable with your campaign’s logos. From kiosks to tables, and lockers, you can outfit your opinion polling station with your candidate’s logo or campaign message. The interactive touch screen on top of the kiosk can even be used to display your social media channels or latest campaign videos.

Rentacomputer.com can meet all of your campaign’s computer and event equipment rental needs. From social media walls and RFID printers to WiFi hotspot rentals and iPad rentals, we have the equipment you need and our skilled technicians ensure that all of your event technology rentals are delivered and properly set up. Features Brought in with iOS 11

December 15th, 2017 | Posted by rreeve in Apple | iPad - (0 Comments)

iOS11(1)

While iOS 11 launched in September, there are a few features that you may not know about yet. Whether you are using an iPad rental or your own personal iPad, here are three features that will improve your iPad user experience.

1. Augmented Reality Compatibility

Pokémon GO is ok, and for what it was trying to do when it launched, it worked well. But Pokémon Go is just a launching point into a sea of possibilities for the future of augmented reality, and Apple seems to agree with this belief by including ARKit in the iOS 11 update

To be honest with you, the only AR application that I have found that personally interests me is the Ikea Place app, which helps you visualize what furniture would look like in your home by visualizing it for you. There are other AR applications on the App Store of course, and you should definitely try them out if given the chance! Hopefully Apple’s ARKit will help AR to develop into something greater than what it currently is.

 2. Apple Pay Upgrades

The iOS 11 update brought Apple Pay compatibility to messages. So now you don’t have to use third party applications or use cash to pay back a friend or coworker who went out to get your lunch. Once your Apple Pay account receives the funds, you can transfer it back to your bank account or use it in the App Store.

3. More Apple Pencil Support

For the artsy, or those who use Apple Pencil for other uses, there are some nice improvements in this update. Users can now draw images in an inline drawing mode, meaning users can draw images between paragraphs of text. The Notes App has also been improved to be better able to find handwritten notes.

These are just a few of the features added to improve the user experience in iOS 11. There are a lot of other articles on the web if you are seeking additional information about features added to iOS 11. Happy Holidays!

Unless you watch Apple’s activities with extreme diligence, you might not have noticed that the tech giant’s flagship tablet line has had an unannounced price increase. While this price increase won’t really affect you or your business at all in the immediate future if you are getting an iPad rental, this could affect you if you were planning on just buying an iPad.

Apple iPads of various colors.

Fortunately, not all iPad devices were affected by Apple’s price increase. Only the iPad Pro line saw an overnight increase in price of $50 per iPad. The only iPad Pro definitely not affected by this price increase was the 64GB memory model of both the 10.5-inch and the 12.9-inch iPad Pros.

The original price of the 10.5 Inch 256GB iPad Pro was $749, which has now been increased to the new price of $799. The 10.5 inch 512GB model has been increased from $949 to a cool $999. These are just the pricings of the WiFi only models by the way. If you want cellular compatible devices you’ll have to pay an extra $130 – that applies for both 10.5 inch and 12.9 inch models.

Now let’s look at the increase in the already more expensive 12.9 inch Wifi only models. The original price of the 12.9 inch 256GB model was $899, which increased to $949. The original price of the 12.9 inch 512GB model was $1099, and that price increased to $1149.

Apple iPads of various colors.

Once again, I just want to state that these prices are for the WiFi only models of the iPad Pro line, and that this is obviously before any tax has been calculated into the sale price.

Apple did not announce this price increase officially, or give an official statement saying why they did it. As internet users are prone to do, some people have made speculations as to why Apple increased the price of the iPad Pro line.

The best theory for the price increase that I have seen so far is that Apple is paying more for NAND and DRAM memory chips due to a short supply – caused by tech manufacturers buying up chips in advance of large technology products, and possibly also caused by the increase in the usage of SSD memory among desktop and laptop users – and that instead of taking a profit loss, Apple is passing the bill on to the consumer.

Whether or not you think that Apple would hand the bill off to their customers, at the end of the day it does not change the fact that the iPad Pro line has increased in price

It is no secret that Apple has a neglectful relationship with its MacBook Air models, and two years ago Apple discontinued the smaller of the two MacBook Air models. While I still strongly believe that Apple’s new 12 inch MacBook is the replacement of Apple’s MacBook Air line, Apple’s 2017 iPad Pro may be the second runner-up for the title of “MacBook Air Killer”.

iPadPro2017

Apple’s 2017 refresh of the iPad Pro features two iPad Pro models – a 10.5 inch display iPad Pro and a 12.9 inch display iPad Pro. Although extreme portability and lightweightness were two of the MacBook Air’s main selling points, the small size of the iPad Pro 10.5 inch model alone isn’t enough for it to replace a fully armed and operational laptop – which the MacBook Air is.

So besides being light and small, what would an iPad Pro rental have going for it? In terms of battery life the iPad Pro’s are pretty average in comparison to the tablets of other tech giants. Apple claims that both iPad Pro models have a 10 hour battery life, giving them an extra hour of operation above the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and the 11-inch MacBook Airs of 2015, but two hours less than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, which Samsung claims has a 12 hour battery life.

iPadPro2017(2)

The display on both models of the iPad Pro are better than the display equipped on the current models of MacBook Air. Both iPad Pro models come equipped with retina displays, which the Air lacks. The 10.5 inch iPad Pro has a 2224-by-1668 resolution while the larger 12.9 inch iPad Pro has a resolution of 2732-by-2048. Both models display 264 pixels per inch.

The most impressive aspect of the new iPad Pro models is the A10X Fusion chip. The A10X is the processor and graphics card running the iPad Pro, and it is an impressive piece of hardware for a tablet. The A10X allows the iPad Pro to outperform some laptops in performance, but currently the iPad Pro is limited by its operating system. Once iOS 11 releases, the iPad Pro will become a much more productive device, as the operating system update has a strong focus on increasing the amount of multitasking capable for users, and it will also allow you to search your tablet files extensively, making the iOS more laptop like than mobile device oriented.

3 Great Tablets for Your Next Event!

August 25th, 2016 | Posted by rreeve in Android | Apple | iPad | Rental | Tablet - (0 Comments)

There are many things that can make us happy. One such thing is knowing that you have purchased an item that is easily worth the money you spent on it. The technology market is ever changing, but finding a true technological gem is easier said than done. To aid you in your search for greatness, we are providing you three great options to choose from in your hunt for the best tablet!

  1. Google Pixel C

The Google Pixel C is a versatility machine. The Pixel C is sort of a tablet-laptop hybrid, but it also has several other features that make it stand out from other Android tablets such as:

  • A NVIDIA X1 quad-core processor for high speed performance
  • A full-size keyboard connected to the tablet through magnets
  • A display that has multi-angle capabilities
  • 3 GB of LPDDR4 RAM
  • A 32/64 Gigabyte SSD

Even with all of these features, the Google Pixel C only weighs in at 0.517 kilograms, which is just a little over one pound. The Pixel C runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow for its operating system and is a powerful, quality tablet.

Google Pixel C

  1. iPad Mini 4

Since this is an article about all tablets, Apple had to have a fighter in the ring. I’ve personally found that the size of the iPad Mini makes it a great device to use for your personal e-library; however the iPad Mini is capable of much more. Given its size of 7.9 inches, the iPad Mini packs some serious heat. Some distinguishing features you’ll get with an iPad Mini 4 are:

  • 16/64/128 Gigabytes of storage
  • 10 Hour battery life
  • Apple’s disembodied personal assistant, Siri
  • Cellular data usage capabilities
  • Access to the best applications through the App Store

iPad Mini 4

The iPad Mini 4 currently comes with iOS 9. If you are considering getting an iPad, know that you will be getting some of the most user friendly technology in the tablet market bundled with Apple’s classic design.

  1.  Samsung Galaxy Tab S2

Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4 almost made it onto this list, but due to the Google Pixel C being extremely similar while having a more reasonable price point, discussion on the Surface Pro will have to wait for another day. A much more reasonable contender in a tablet competition is Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S2. This tablet provides some serious competition for the iPad through the following features:

  • 32/128 Gigabytes of storage
  • Choice between an 8” or 9.7” display
  • An Exynos 5433 AP chip
  • Optional Book Cover Keyboard

The Galaxy Tab S2 is a very sleek tablet which weighs in at .86 lbs for the 9.7” version, and only .58 lbs for the 8.0” version. While this tablet may not be as glamorous to you as Apple’s iPads, it makes up for it in pricing and storage space.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2

All three of these tablets are great choices if you are looking for the most dependable devices currently on the market. These tablets are great for both personal and business needs. If you need a tablet rental, you can get an affordable rate from us at RentOurTablets.com, or call us at 888-736-8301.

Last month Apple announced that iOS 10 will be releasing this fall and unveiled many of the bells and whistles which will accompany the operating system upon its release. Apple announced 10 new features for iOS10 which they thoroughly delved into during their presentation at the Worldwide Developers Conference, but we can give you a basic rundown of what iOS 10 will do for you.

Clipboard01

New Looks

Apple has decided to update several visual aspects of your device with the release of iOS 10. Some fancy new graphics you can look forward to seeing include a redesigned lockscreen and a heavily improved Messages app. Improvements for the Messages app include videos sent inside messages can now be seen and played inside of the Messages app, and emojis will be displayed 3 times larger.

More Interactivity

iOS 10 is heavily focused on improving user experience through interactivity. To improve user interaction Apple has done a number of things. Most notably, Apple has opened Siri for developers, meaning you should expect some of the top apps, such as Twitter or Instagram, to start integrating Siri into their design. Apple has also taken several much smaller steps to ensure an increase in user interaction, including:

  1. More notifications for the lockscreen and more things to do in apps from the lockscreen
  2. QuickType can help you complete your messages in a more timely manner.
  3. The Homekit app will now have house accessory support for accessories like security cameras and doorbells.
  4. Your device will now be able to show you where you’ve taken your pictures on a world map, and will also be able to sort people into individual photo albums through facial recognition.
  5. Apple News will present you with articles based on articles you have already read.

Higher Quality of Life

Apple has also announced several quality of life improvements which will release alongside iOS 10.Two such improvements are a redesign of the Apple News app and transcripts for voicemail messages. Apple plans to clean up the news app’s interface and give it easier to sort categories.

Apple unveiled many exciting things at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference which took place last week. One extremely important announcement was Swift Playgrounds.

Before discussing Swift Playgrounds, it is important to know what Swift is. For those of you who do not know, Swift is a programming language created and used by Apple that runs on many operating systems, including macOS, iOS, and Linux.

Swift Playgrounds is an application that has the goal of teaching Apple’s Swift coding while still being fun for the user. To accomplish this goal, Swift Playgrounds presents itself in the style of a video game.

Apple plans to use Swift coding for many years to come, and as a result Swift Playgrounds has the potential to be both a fun and extremely practical application.

Swift Playgrounds is planned to fully release this fall and will be available to download for free for all iPhone and iPad users. For additional information on Swift Playgrounds click here.
